A Blog From Kewie – Barn Raising And Boddingtons

Hello everyone! Kew here, Alex Kew. I’m the man that completes the 3 Alex’s in 1 band concept. To my knowledge it’s the first time this has happened and I’m proud to be a pioneer in the field.

This weekend Alex Gold and I went up to our dear friend Mr  C’s house to discuss boobs over a few cans of Boddingtons before jumping in a big ‘YELO!’ taxi to visit fellow musician Alice Walker. Alice is a singer-songwriter from Essex who is very very talented indeed and needs to be heard. www.myspace.com/alicemwalker.

Alice was having a barn raising party. This mainly consists of building a barn and getting drunk afterwards. We turned up as the drinking commenced (Al and I are small men who can’t really lift heavy things so we’d have been of no use in that area). After a few more cans of a popular mancunian bitter, some silly dancing and a somewhat confusing soundcheck, we took the blokes word for it that he was a ‘professional’, stepped up to the microphones with our awustic guitars and began to rock.

When we finished we flogged a few EP’s, spoke to some girls and then retired back to the C residence to further discuss our favourite bits’n'peices of the female anatomy and play a few tunes in the garden before calling it a night. Al tried to spoon me in his sleep, it’s not the first time this has happened. I recommend that unless you are willing for more than a bedtime chat then it’s best to sleep in a different room to him. He farts too.

The next morning (OK afternoon, we’re growing boys and we need our sleep) we got up and after some mushrooms on toast and a builders tea we bid our pal farewell and departed for London where we had a gig at The Long Rooms in Tooting. Unfortunately we arrived to a faulty PA and had to call the gig off. However, we decided to play an intimate (no exaggeration, we sat at their table) acoustic set to some of the guests which rounded off the weekend rather nicely.

And that brings us to today. Not done much really, just had some beans on toast and wrote this blog. That’s it.

Peace and Love
